At-a-Glance

This project was for a client, TMS Marketing Solutions. This project focuses on the development of a cross-platform website which will educate potential and current patients about TMS therapy. In 11 months, I delivered complete sets of unique design layouts, handmade assets, personas, and prototypes. As the lead UX and Graphic designer, I created everything that you will see, except for the copywriting which was provided by TMS Marketing Solutions.

Problem

Our aim is to create an educational website about TMS therapy that tackles a prevalent issue: Many individuals abandon the idea of therapy before even starting due to the emotional strain of navigating the intricate and overwhelming landscape of mental health websites and resources. Our task is to design a website that provides easy navigation and a stress-free experience.

Solution

With the expertise of TMS Marketing Solutions’ professionals, this project fosters the pursuit of mental health support, ensuring a stress-free, easy and swift experience. Through the inclusion of multiple calls to action, larger text for all ages to easily consume and the inclusion of  Employing UX methodologies, I've crafted an intuitive and calming user experience. The urgency of providing quick and accessible assistance is essential; this website could be a lifeline.

This website ensures a seamless user experience across various devices thanks to the implementation of responsive design by leveraging insights from user testing. Focusing on user-centric navigation, I emphasized the importance of incorporating multiple calls to action (buttons) to streamline navigation, particularly benefiting older users by enhancing website usability and reducing information overload.  Insights gleaned from user preferences highlighted the importance of straightforward navigation for older participants and their preference for smartphone usage over computers. Since these users were more likely to use their smartphones over their computers, having a minimalist layout with a lot of breathing room on the page was essential. Additionally, younger participants responded better when small cartoons were implemented into the website’s design, contributing to a more engaging overall user experience.

User Research

TMS Marketing Solutions conducted extensive research on their target demographic. My additional research involved identifying pain points on a competitor's website, Greenbook TMS. This was followed by creating a mood board to decide on the color scheme, researching fonts, and ideating the necessary website pages.

Learnings:

  • The Significance of Usability Testing:

Designers, at times, can become so immersed in a project that they overlook aspects that may not be clear to an outsider. This oversight can lead to usability errors, leaving users uncertain about navigating a website.

  • The Importance of Proper Organization:

Recognizing the importance of organization in my UX design process has been crucial. Clear organization streamlines workflow, enhancing collaboration across diverse team sectors. Efficient file management and documentation simplify communication, making design rationale and findings easily shareable. Accessible project assets foster transparency and shared project understanding. Well-organized structures support smooth transitions and handovers between team members, maintaining continuity. Additionally, transparency enables tracing project evolution and adapting to changes, ensuring quick adjustments based on user feedback and evolving requirements. In essence, proper organization not only improves efficiency but also cultivates a collaborative and adaptable environment vital for successful UX design.
